It is that time of year again. Halloween is right around the corner and now is the time to start looking for those fabulous couples costumes. Finding the right costume for you and your partner to wear to the upcoming Halloween party can make you crazy. There are so many different choices available.

There are some great couples costumes that play off of cartoons and movies. Fred and Wilma and Barney and Betty from the Flintstones are always a great hit. Another great couple from the cartoons is Olive Oyl and Popeye. One of my all time favorite cartoon couples is Garfield and Odie. For animated movie costumes Shrek and Fiona are still a great costume choice. Some other great movie costume choices are Danny and Sandy from Grease or a couple from The Wizard of Oz. For the Wizard of Oz you can have a Dorothy and then choose the Scarecrow, Tin man, Cowardly lion, or even Toto. You have a lot of choices when it comes to this couple.

If you are looking for something a little more fairy tale love then there are dozens of fairy tale couples to choose from. Even though Romeo and Juliet were not actually a fairy tale they are probably one of the first couples that popped into your mind and they always make a great costume. For real fairy tale couples a timeless choice is Cinderella and Prince Charming. Beauty and the Beast, Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, Alice and the Mad Hatter are all great fairy tale costumes for couples.

You might not be looking for the traditional couples in your costume choices. You might be looking for something a little more abstract. There is your typical ball and chain costume. You can take inspiration from your kitchen with ketchup and mustard or salt and pepper costumes. A little more risqué costumes would include a hot dog and a bun or a plug and a socket.

Other great options for couple’s costumes are job related costumes. Doctor and nurse make a great costume. Firefighter couples and police man couples can allow you to wear a sexy costume. Or just couple types in general, vampire couples, pilgrims, Indians, rock stars, you name it the possibilities are endless.

Taking a page from current events, the media, and television is always hot at Halloween time. Finding the great costumes in these events will make a hit at your Halloween party. A few great choices right now are Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth, Ashton and Demi, and Brad and Angelina.

As you can see the possibilities are endless. Take a page from TV, the movies, or life and get creative. You don’t have to follow one of the rules here you can make your own rules and that often leads to the best costumes anyways. Couples costumes ideas are really endless and your imagination is the limit.

Have a Fun Halloween by Choosing from Alice in Wonderland Costumes

The story of Alice in Wonderland is a classic. Characters from the film can provide a great inspiration for Alice in Wonderland costumes. Both adults and children can have a fun time dressing as their favorite character from this old-time classic. Some possible ideas include Alice, The Mad Hatter, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, The White Rabbit, The Queen of Hearts, and the Cheshire Cat.

Alice is the main protagonist in the story. She's portrayed as a curious girl who daydreams a lot. Not only that, but she has a very recognizable costume. To get this look, you will need: a light blue dress that has puffed sleeves, an attached white apron or pinafore, and white stockings. Also, a black ribbon should be worn in the hair.

The Mad Hatter is another character that has a very distinguished look. In the story, the Mad Hatter once tried to sing to the Queen of Hearts, but she sentenced him to death for murdering time. He retaliated by keeping time stuck at 6:00 forever. Therefore, in the book, he was always having tea. To get his look, you will need: an over-sized blue and yellow hat, an orange plaid jacket with purple lapels, an attached green plaid vest, a yellow shirt front with an attached over-sized orange and black striped bow tie, over-sized shoes, and purple pants. Along with this, add a card to the Hatter's hat. It should say 10/6 on it.

Tweedledee and Tweedledum are a third idea for Alice in Wonderland costumes. In the story, these two were known for finishing each others sentences. They looked identical and often made odd movements, such as jumping really high and wobbling their legs as though they had no bones. To get their look, you will need: a gold or yellow shirt with a white collar, red pants, a blue bow tie, and a red baseball cap with a little yellow flag attached.

The White Rabbit is always known for being scared that he is going to be late. He spends his time in the story rushing around. Dressing as the White Rabbit for Halloween shouldn't be too difficult. For this, you will need a red waistcoat, a black bow tie, a vest, knee-length white pants, and a fluffy tail. Not only that, but you should also carry around a pocket watch and wear a pair of spectacles.

The Queen of Hearts was a foul-tempered monarch. She's most commonly known for yelling "Off with their heads!". Like Alice and the Mad Hatter, she's another character that has a very recognizable costume. To get her look, you will need a long gold and red dress that has puff shoulders and an accented bodice. You will also need a stand-up collar, petticoat, a heart patterned front insert, and a mini gold crown.

A final Alice in Wonderland costume idea is that of the Cheshire Cat. He was a mischievous character that liked to cause trouble now and then. To get his look, you will need a jumpsuit that is purple with pink stripes. You will also need to add a thick tail to the back of it and a headpiece with kitty ears.

The 'Captain Hook' Pirate Costume

While Captain Jack Sparrow is all the rage it has become over done and expected. A classic pirate costume to try is Captain Hook, a timeless literary character from the story of Peter Pan. He was made famous again in the 1990s with the popular movie entitled Hook, starring Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman as Captain Hook. He is the ultimate evil pirate, opposed to the hero Jack Sparrow. With so many Jack Sparrows around at Halloween, Captain Hook makes a much more original and interesting costumes these days.

If you are not familiar with the Story of Peter Pan and Captain Hook, here is a little history. Captain Hook was the captain of the Jolly Roger and lord of the village and harbor in Neverland where he was feared by all. He got his nickname and his hook hand from Peter Pan, who cut off his hand and fed it to a giant crocodile. The crocodile liked the taste of Captain Hook so much that he stalked Captain Hook everywhere he went in the hope of eating the rest of him. Luckily for Captain Hook, he could always tell when the crocodile was around because of the sound of a ticking clock the crocodile had also swallowed. Hook captures Wendy and goes on to challenge Peter Pan to a duel. Peter beats Hook and throws him overboard to the waiting crocodile, who finally gets his full-course dinner.

To create your own Captain Hook pirate costume, start with a white ruffled shirt and some dark tights. Next, look for an old-fashioned coat; try for a dark red or blue one with gold or brass colored buttons. It should be long enough to reach down to your thighs. The wig is Captain Hook’s signature, so make sure to find a similar one to the movie. You’ll need pants that tuck into pirate boots, a frilly cravat and feathered three-point hat. You’ll need a sword to fight off that pesky Peter Pan and of course, his iconic hook-hand. You’ll also need to practice his swagger and British accent. Captain Hook, unlike most pirates, was well educated at a top British school. Finding all these accessories can be time consuming, so I recommend shopping for a pirate costume online to start. Then you can add your own touches and accessories to achieve the true Captain Hook look.

Captain Jack Sparrow Pirate Costume Tips

The Captain Jack Sparrow pirate costume is always popular and now a Halloween staple. If you want the most authentic Jack Sparrow costume or just want to add more details to your existing one, read on for the full report on this iconic pirate costume.

To start, Captain Jack Sparrow had long dark hair that's worn in a combination of dreadlocks and braids. His hair is adorned with a selection of beads and usually a red scarf. You’ll find his leather ‘tricorne’ hat over this scarf with his signature gold doubloon attached. He has a long goatee that is parted into two braids and he also wears a silver chain. He also wears ‘kohl’ around his eyes which was used historically in Asia as a dark eye make-up, but you can just use foundation and smudged eye-liner or mascara.

For his clothing he sports a classic white linen shirt with ruffled sleeves with a grey waistcoat over it. His grey coat was made of silk in the movie, but you just need to color to match. Around his waist you’ll find a red woven sash and a belt with his compass attached. He wears dark grey pants which are tucked into brown cuffed suede boots and also wears a baldric with a silver buckle on his shoulder.

Captain Jack Sparrow needs his accessories and jewellery. On his right index finger he wears a silver skull with an emerald. On his left hand he wears a black onyx and a silver dragon. He also has leather straps around the middle and index fingers of his hand attached to his leather gloves. Achieve this authentic look I recommend starting at thrift stores if you have the time. An easier way to start is to buy a Captain Jack Sparrow pirate costume online and add your own touches and accessories to complete the true Pirates of the Caribbean look.

Everybody wants to be the bad guy, Be the Joker

Halloween is an exciting time to dress up and have a good time and it is also an excuse to get to act like a bad guy with no consequences! The best bad guy costume out there at the moment are the Joker costumes. The Joker is a character from the movie The Dark Knight which is a batman movie. The Joker is the criminal in the movie and every crime he commits usually involves riddles. The Joker always has on crazy colorful make up and complex mismatched outfits that add to his crazy scary appeal. Joker costumes are one of the most fun costumes to come up with because there are so many different ways to do the make up and clothes!

In the movie, The Dark Knight, the Joker wears a ton of make up and in order to get the full on affect of the Joker this amount of make up would need to be worn. The main colors used for the make up are green, red, and black. The black needs to be circled completely around the eyes and the red should be in a circle around the mouth. The green colored make up can outline the three circle or just go on the cheeks, there are a few different ways to do the make up that can work. As long as you stick with these three colors and maybe even throw in some yellow you are sure to look very Joker-like and terrifying. Getting on the internet and downloading a picture of the Joker to help guide you in the process, or watching the movie for inspiration is always a good idea. The clothes can pretty much be any colorful combination of pieces but the outfit needs to include a bow tie and a hat for sure. The Joker always wears a really cool hat to cover up his crazy frazzled hair. Which brings us to the hair, you will need to tease it and try to get it as yellow as possible if you really want to capture the spirit of the Joker.

Other than just dressing the part of the Joker, you can watch the movie to gain insight into how the Joker actually acts. Finding a few well known quotes to throw out during the night can be a lot of fun when impersonating this crazy character. This costume is great for adults, especially guys, because everyone knows who the Joker is and it will be a huge hit at parties. It is also a wonderful couple costume because one partner can dress up as the Joker and the other can go as batman. This costume is not just for men, women can definitely pull of the Joker costume in an original and probably hilarious way. If your child wants to dress up as the Joker and have mommy or daddy dress up as batman, or vice versa, it can work and be very cute but it might need to be toned down a little based on the age of the child. Regardless of who wears this costume or where they wear it to it is sure to be a fun and colorful night for everyone involved!

Vampires Suck - The Movie

Well I’ve always enjoyed spoof movies that draw humor from pop culture, starting with the original Airplane!, to the Naked Gun series, to the Scary Movie series. A new spoof-movie that popped up extremely quick to cash in on the huge vampire trend that teens seem to be obsessed with is entitled “Vampires Suck”. I’m pretty old-fashioned when it comes to my horror movies and the new trend for young, attractive, rich vampires is a world away from my vampire movie picks such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula and From Dusk Till Dawn. The new Twilight series this movies pokes fun at seems more like the Gossip Girl series than anything to do with actual vampires. So I’m happy to see the same guys who brought us spoofs such as Scary Movie, Epic Movie and Date Movie. While looking at the trailer, I didn’t find it that amusing, but I realize I’m now officially old and out of touch somewhat with today’s pop culture, but I’m sure the younger generation will get a bigger kick out of it for sure. Check out the trailer below, plus some links for great vampire costume ideas, no matter what your vampire style is.

Halloween is an annual holiday always celebrated on the last day of October. Baby Costume

Halloween costumes made especially for babies are their first initiation into a cool holiday that lets them dress up to be someone else. To make your baby’s first Halloween memorable, why don’t you try dressing him up with something really special? Although he might be too young to understand everything, a photo of him wearing a cute and cool outfit is enough to make him remember his first Halloween when he grows up. However, you must make sure that baby costume you choose is comfortable to wear. It must be hypoallergenic, as well. You can make the baby costume yourself or you can buy from a good store.

For instance, you can dress up your baby in a flower costume if your baby is a girl. Flowers are cute, lovely, and simple. The great thing about flower costumes is that they can suit just anybody. The petals can be placed around the baby’s face. Flower costumes are also easy to find, so you will not have a hard time looking for them in shops. You can even customize the baby costume by buying separate pieces and putting them together. You can buy a pair of green shoes or slippers and matching green overalls. Then, you can have the petals tailored according to the size of your baby’s head. You can also make the leaves by cutting out pieces of green felt paper.

Another simple yet beautiful baby costume is the angel costume. Babies are cute, little angels; that is why it is only appropriate to dress up your baby as an angel. Of course, you can buy a ready-made angel costume in the mall. Angel costumes are not hard to find; but you can also make one yourself so you can be sure that your baby will be unique. First, buy the prettiest white dress you can find. Then, make a pair of wings by shaping wires into wings and slipping white pantyhose over them. You can also cut out cardboard wings and glue some cotton balls or feathers onto them. Then, attach the wings onto the dress by sewing them. Be careful if you are using wires. Make sure that they do not cause uneasiness to your baby.

Food-themed costumes are also great. A burrito baby costume, for instance, is fairly easy to make. Just sew some lettuce-shaped fabric around the top side of a beige-colored blanket and wrap your baby in it. If you think that food-themed costumes are not very exciting, then why don’t you try animal costumes instead? During Halloween, most kids prefer to dress up as cats. So, why don’t you try dressing up your baby in a cute kitten or cub costume? You can purchase a headband with little triangular ears to make a cat baby costume. Then, you can sew a long tail at the back of matching overalls. Other popular animal baby costumes are rabbits, dogs, octopuses, monkeys, and fishes. Bug costumes may appeal too. A cute butterfly or caterpillar costume will make your baby standout from the crowd. Butterfly wings and very colorful, so this costume will surely be a hit, especially if your baby is a girl. Baby boys, on the other hand, will look charming in little bee costumes.
